Pioneering Stem Cell Transplantation and Regenerative Medicine in Iran
The Research Institute for Oncology, Hematology and Cell Therapy (RIOHCT) with more than four decades of history, is recognized as a pioneer and leader in the field of stem cell transplantation and regenerative or restorative medicine in Iran. This center, with more than 8,000 successful transplants and having the only stem cell donor bank in the Middle East (ISCDP), has created a complete ecosystem of research, education, and treatment.
The Research Institute for Oncology, Hematology and Cell Therapy with the main mission of "research, education, and treatment in the field of cancers, blood diseases, and cell therapy" operates. This center, which was formed after the first successful transplant in Iran in 1990, today as the largest and first cell therapy center in the country, hosts three specialized research centers and by training half of the super-specialist forces in this field in the country, plays an unparalleled role in Iran's health system.
